The app is not speaking

Check the device volume and audio output. Disconnect unintended Bluetooth devices, then tap the full message or a vocabulary button again.

AI recommendations are unavailable

On-device AI requires a compatible device with Apple Intelligence enabled and ready. Alto AAC continues to provide regular vocabulary recommendations when Apple Intelligence is unavailable.

A photo or custom word is wrong

Touch and hold the vocabulary button, then choose Edit word. You can replace its label, spoken phrase, category, color, emoji, or photo.

Something was accidentally changed

Open Board Settings and choose Reset to Defaults. This permanently removes custom words, categories, saved positions, favorites, and recent phrases, so review the confirmation carefully.
